‘A Raisin in the Sun’, written by Lorraine Hansberry and published in 1959, opens to many important themes and characters such as the issues of racism, discrimination, prejudice, hatred and injustice, up till the time when led under the leadership of Martin Luther King, the coloured people achieved the right to equality, the right to freedom and the right to vote in 1965.
