Disabled, Wilfred Owen Poem Analysis/Annotations IB

Author of the Notes: Mrs Pushpinder Kaur

‘Disabled’ is an anti-war poem divided into stanzas of uneven length; it uses rhyme and is partly narrative, and reflective. It is important to take note of the fact that Wilfred Owen, being a war veteran himself, having served in the First World War expresses his attitude towards the cruelty of war in a very subtle and ingenious manner so that the poem reflects individual silent agony as well as conveys the poet’s message without becoming propaganda.
